THE 1930s ECONOMY CRASH FANTASY BOOM

Rita_180815_Leberger1067

“Hard work spotlights the character of people: some turn up their sleeves, some turn up their noses, some don’t turn up at all.”

by Sam Ewing

The 30s was the beginning of the ready to wear fashion age. During the 1930s there was a great depression, companies started researching and implementing cheaper ways of clothing manufacturing. The clothing style was less extravagant, but the shapes of these dresses were designed to show off a woman most feminine features. Most of the dresses were either slightly gathered or pleated. The ideal 30s woman was tall and slender with a very small waist and narrow hips, Since most women were not blessed with slim hips and a small waist, shoulders were exaggerated with puff sleeves. Ready to wear became popular because clothing could be mass-produced. During this era the zipper became a standard in the finishing of garments because they cost less than buttons.

A woman would not wear her house dress out of the house, to shop, run errands. She would need a smart afternoon or day dress.
Being on a tight budget was no excuse for sloppy fashion. It was considered a woman’s duty to shop smart.
Women who could feed and dress her family on a dime were praised.

They were considered a good steward of the husband’s money.

HAPPY VALENTINE MY LOVE

52366898_2076991165681720_4102703162303971328_n

I looked at the dress on the floor and it was as if the fire had spread across the room. It was beautiful and it reminded me of something I must do. I must go get ready for my Valentine’s date. As we all know that the face is the mirror of the mind and the eyes without speaking confesses the secrets of the heart, that is why during Valentine, lovers confesses or show their loved ones some extra love and attention by going on a romantic date or exchanging gifts like candy, flowers, or a key as a romantic symbol or invitation to unlock the giver’s heart.

It is an event which is joyfully celebrated around the world. Valentine’s day is a perfect excuse to put on a nice sexy outfit and hit the town with your lover or loved ones. When choosing your outfit for this event, you have to be careful which color you choose according to the  Valentine’s dress code. Yellow = Broken up, Brown = Broken heart, Grey or Purple = Not interested in Love, Orange = Going to propose, Pink = Proposal accepted, Red = Already in love. Select your Valentine’s dress code and have a nice time.

WELCOME TO THE NEW WORLD OF INFLUENCER MARKETING

As a fashion influencer I taught it will be nice to write about influencer marketing since time has changed and it is no longer the big brands that are completely in control.
Consumer has evolved and competition has become stronger and the rise of micro influencer is replacing celebrity and brands promotion.
This is because the micro influencer are relatable to their peers, consumer are no longer in utter awe of superstar because celebrity are not really in touch with reality and the micro influencers deals with life needs, products and services.
The micro influencers are just girls or boys who are turning their passion into influencer jobs. They are the new face that consumer fall in love with.

They usually have between 1000, to 10,000 followers and their fee goes from 100 to 2000 euros for a post. A lot of companies goes for micro influcers because it is budget friendly.
Influencers are walking their ways into the business landscape and are making transformation.

Mega Influencer are the cream de la cream to a company they usually have more than 100,000 to 5,000,000 million followers.
Their fees goes from 2,000 euros to 200,000 euros for a sponsored post.

Brand Ambassador is an influencer who is hired by a company to represent their brand. They have to only promote the product of only that particular company. Ambassador for a brand has usually between 80,000 to 200,000 followers. They are specialised on particular niche. Their fees goes from 2,000 to 100,000 euros

MERRY XMAS

Hello everybody I wish you all a Merry Xmas and above all we should not forget or be carry away with all the parties but to remember that it is the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ.

I would also like to say it is not what is under the tree that matter but the good heart around it, just the show of love and affection is all that matters.

Let’s talk a little about the Xmas tree itself.
The Xmas tree is an Evergreen Pine or Fir tree, which is associated with Christmas celebration. It originated in Northern Europe.

The tree was traditionally decorated with roses made of colored paper but in the 18th century it was illuminated with candles but later it was replaced with the Christmas light. Today it is decorated with traditional ornament, baubles, tinsel, garland and candy canes. An angle of star is normally placed on top to represent Angle Gabriel or the star of Bethlehem.
Last year I decided to do a shot with the Christmas tree by decorating it with high heels shoes.

The theme of the shot was stilettos on the Christmas tree .

as you know  I like to be creative, that was just for the photo shoot at the studio but at home I had  my Christmas tree traditionally decorated.

I am a lover of Xmas and high heel shoes, so decorating the xmas tree with high heel was fun and this made me happy.

Hope you all are enjoying your Xmas holiday.

A lot of love from my family to yours.

MERRY XMAS

THE ATTRACTING FORCE OF THE OPPOSITE

IN ORDER TO BE IRREPLACEABLE ONE MUST ALWALYS BE DIFFERENT “COCO CHANEL”

To stripe a surface serves to distinguish it, to point it out, to oppose it, associate it with another surface, to classify it, to keep an eye on it and to make a bold statement

The color black and white has a magical attractive force in the most elegant way because black atoms carry a negative charge while the white atom carry’s a positive charge.

So black and white graphic plays an intriguing game with the powerful attracting force of the opposite to achieve a maximum effect with minimum means. This means when styling this type of outfit you have to minimalism the accessory. Black and white are sexy, edgy and chic. It is used by some company as dress code for formal events. If you are that kind of woman who blight color does not appeal to black and white is a color to go for. In general this  monochrome way of dressing give you a bright, modern and contemporary.

THE AFRICAN KINKY HAIR

As an African woman I love to play with my hair styles, so I wear wigs, extensions, braids and my natural hair. Playing with wigs or extensions is something I love to do to create different looks but at the end of the day my natural look is still my favorite cos it is my authentic self. I keep my hair in it natural state cos I love the traditional African look.
During the slavery time the African were not allowed to be proud of their hair or skin tone, cos the slaves with ligh skin and curly hair were allowed to be house slaves while the dark and kinky hair slaves were relegated to work in the fields.
The Europeans standard of beauty appreciate long straight or curly hair.
Despite the standard of beauty we should love to embrace our differences and celebrate each other.
I love my black kinky hair and I will rock it no matter what the standard of beauty says, and I will change to weaves or wigs  any time I like cos I give myself the permission to embrace any type of hair style at any time.

THE JOURNEY

61407105_337061193626209_213290794633658368_nFour years of blogging
Today I celebrate my fourth year of blogging.
Ooooo my God is just like yesterday, but time as they say flies when you are busy.
I started blogging without really having a plan or knowing how I was going to do it.
I made a word press website, started doing photo shoot with my personal outfit and sharing my taught on fashion with the World.
In the beginning it was a hobby but after two years I created a company for it, during these period I have written two blog books and the manuscript of the third book is almost ready.
You can get the e book on Amazon. For the hard copy sales are done through my website www.styleandconcept.be
The journey has not been easy, I have managed to come this far because of my passion and dedication to my craft. Style and concept will continue to create beautiful photo shoot ideas and will cater for the costume and the amazing locations.
I thank all my photographers for all the wonderful pictures and above all for understanding my vision.
As, a lover of fashion I use this channel to showcase my creative work.

Fashion for me is a form of self-expression.

It is also intriguing for me because the understanding of colors, ethic influence, seasonal functionalities, shape of the human body, the different skin tones are very important element in fashion.

In addition to all this variable the success of this metric changes at all times.

As we know trends changes as quick as the season but that is good because it always comes back, that is why Fashion serves as a memory of our journey in life.

As a fashion blogger I can tell you that fashion helps to boost self-esteem, you feel better when you look good.

Dressing up can help to boost your confidence, it helps to create a more positive outlook on life which can make a nicer person.

I am a person who appreciate aesthetic in all different parameter. As a visual person I want things and people to look nice.

It is good to present ourselves to the World in an appealing and fashionable way.

Style and Concept by Rita Roland is all about been beautiful from the inside out and projecting this beauty for the outside World to see.

To celebrate this great occasion I use this beautiful pink dress.

Colorful outfit goes very well with my skin tone.

This pink dress is beautiful and dramatic, so I decided to keep the accessories minimum so that all the attention will be on the dress.

An extreme high heel shoes was used to keep the dress from the ground.

So my fabulous fashionista who has been with me on these journey I want you to know that fashion might not be rocket science but it can be fun to follow and play with.

Cheers to four years of blogging.
