Four years of blogging
Today I celebrate my fourth year of blogging.
Ooooo my God is just like yesterday, but time as they say flies when you are busy.
I started blogging without really having a plan or knowing how I was going to do it.
I made a word press website, started doing photo shoot with my personal outfit and sharing my taught on fashion with the World.
In the beginning it was a hobby but after two years I created a company for it, during these period I have written two blog books and the manuscript of the third book is almost ready.

The journey has not been easy, I have managed to come this far because of my passion and dedication to my craft. Style and concept will continue to create beautiful photo shoot ideas and will cater for the costume and the amazing locations.
I thank all my photographers for all the wonderful pictures and above all for understanding my vision.
As, a lover of fashion I use this channel to showcase my creative work.

Fashion for me is a form of self-expression.

It is also intriguing for me because the understanding of colors, ethic influence, seasonal functionalities, shape of the human body, the different skin tones are very important element in fashion.

In addition to all this variable the success of this metric changes at all times.

As we know trends changes as quick as the season but that is good because it always comes back, that is why Fashion serves as a memory of our journey in life.

As a fashion blogger I can tell you that fashion helps to boost self-esteem, you feel better when you look good.

Dressing up can help to boost your confidence, it helps to create a more positive outlook on life which can make a nicer person.

I am a person who appreciate aesthetic in all different parameter. As a visual person I want things and people to look nice.

It is good to present ourselves to the World in an appealing and fashionable way.

Style and Concept by Rita Roland is all about been beautiful from the inside out and projecting this beauty for the outside World to see.

To celebrate this great occasion I use this beautiful pink dress.

Colorful outfit goes very well with my skin tone.

This pink dress is beautiful and dramatic, so I decided to keep the accessories minimum so that all the attention will be on the dress.

An extreme high heel shoes was used to keep the dress from the ground.

So my fabulous fashionista who has been with me on these journey I want you to know that fashion might not be rocket science but it can be fun to follow and play with.

As I celebrate my birthday I decided to go for  a blue evening dress because the color blue represent depth and stability. It also symbolizes trust, loyalthy, confidence and wisdom. Blue is consider to be beneficial to the mind and body.

It is a chance to remember the day a major event occurred. It is a time to rethink your life. A time to recall a new beginning, no matter how things were yesterday or last year we can always try again or take a jump into a new adventure, with this blue evening dress I take a jump into a new adventure as I celebrate my birthday.

This is one outfit you don’t want to miss in your wardrobe.

These shade of blue is a new color in my wardrobe.

For these look I made  it more feminine by wearing  an awesome pump.

Keep jewellery, make up and other accessories to a minimum not to overwhelm the look.

MET GALA 2019

The Met Gala is an annual fundraising gala for the benefit of the Metropolitan museum of arts  in New York city. It marks the opening of the costume institute annual fashion exhibition. Each year there is a theme of the year costume, guest are expected to choose their fashion to match the theme of the year costume. This year Met gala is based on unnatural and exaggeration. So we are expecting attendee to go completely over the top with their looks.
The met gale is done the first Monday of May.
If Cardi B and Rihanna would take even a catholic theme dress code of last year and make it fashion, now that it is dedicated to outrageous can u imagine what they will do.

Let see which celebrity got it right.

Lady Gaga in Brandon Maxwell dress

Lady Gaga show up in a next level hot pink parachute coat.

Kim Kardashian West in Mugler she was stepping out of the ocean into the red carpet. She wore Thierry Mugler first design in 20 years.

J Lo in Versace  channeled Whitney Houston in the bodyguard with the diamond encrusted headpiece and matching fringe body con gown.

Cardi B in Thorn Browne, Cardi went over the top with this red feathered dres with extra large train.

Katy Perry in Moschino she would not let Lady Gaga out stunt her she worn a beauty inspired Moschino dress stacked with a fully lit up chandelier headpiece.

Celine Dion in Osca de la renta Celine pulled it off with a 22 pounds land stitched fringe bodysuit.

Nicki Minaj outfit was gorgerous this is my favourite met gala outfit for 2019

I love the pink dress with the train and the high heel gladiator shoes.

If no, don’t miss out of the next book signing event, date and time will be announced we promise to keep you posted.
Now to the very day of the book signing event 9-12-2018, this was my first book signing event, I was nervous which I guess was normal. I did not know if my friends and fans would show up cos it was raining yes you heard me right it was a raining day but as luck would have it the rain stopped before noon, can I get a Hallelujah for that.
The good news is that the location I choose was a very beautiful  café called Chez Laurant, Arthur Scheirisstraat 13 in Zottegem.
I choose this venue because it was cozy with good atmosphere and attitude. The hospitality was also super. It was a perfect location for my book signing  event.

One of my photographers came from Holland to cover the event with this I say thanks to Martin Photography.

As you know the event was 14.00 hour Europeans time but I decided to do a mini shoot before my guess arrived.
At 15.00 hour all my guest had arrived, and they got welcome with a glass of champagne and a signed copy of Style and Concept by Rita Roland Volume 1 and 2.
It was an amazing experience for me and I enjoyed every moment of it, so did my friends and Fans.

After the event which was 19.00 I went with my friends for dinner at Volpe an Italian restaurant in Zottegem.

We had fun the whole day that is why me and my team decided to use this opportunity to say a big thank you to everybody who made that day a success.

 

 

LE BERGER HOTEL BRUSSEL

Le berger is a very lovely hotel in the center of Brussel with a historical art deco. It is 300m from the metro station so it is very easy accessible with public transport.

There is an Italian restuarant and bar.

For this shoot we wanted to go back in time to see how the people from this era lived and the economic situation.

THE 1930 ECONOMY CRASH FANTASY BOOM

The depression of the 30s did not affect everyone the same way. Many rich people felt no impact at all, and were blind for the suffering of others.

The 30s were the beginning of the ready to wear fashion age. During the 1930s great depression companies started researching and implementing cheaper means of clothing manufacturing.

Clothing style were less extravagant, but the shapes of these dresses were designed to show off a woman most feminine features- most of the dresses were either slightly gathered or pleated.

The ideal 30s woman was tall and slender with a very small waist and narrow hips. Since most women were not blessed with slim hips and a small waist, shoulders were exaggerated with puff sleeves.

Ready to wear became popular because clothing could be mass produced .During this era the zipper became a standard in the finishing of garments because they cost less than buttons.

A woman would not wear her house dress out of the house, to shop, run errands. she would need a smart afternoon or day dress.

Characteristic of fashion in the 30s

• shoulder pads were frequently used to broaden and square the shoulder of dresses
• For women in business a well tailored suit was a must
• Silky dresses became more popular
• Empire waisted lines which were tied in the back were popular
• Women usually wore gloves outside the house. The gloves would be worn to match their shoes and handbags
• Makeup such as rouge and lipstick was frequently used to brighten pale faces
• Women tended to keep their hair fairly short
• Artificial eyelashes were popular
• Wool, silk and cotton were the most popular fabrics for women’s’ fashion

Being on a tight budget was no excuse for sloppy fashion. It was considered a woman’s duty to shop smart.

Women who could feed and dress her family on a dime were praised. They were considered a good steward of the husbands money.

It will also make you to make poor decisions, don’t allow dollars, or euros to control your decisions. Don’t look for a messiah to get you out of trouble but make intelligent decisions. Do things for your mental and physical well been.

Dress up beautiful  you dont need a date before you dress up  dress for yourself. I decided to try something new, I went for cruising lessons it was a very nice experience and had also made me confront my fear for water and took shoot amazing pictures.

It was a very good exercise for my mental wellness.

PARTY TIME WITH RITA ROLAND

After one year of publishing my blog book Style and Concept by Rita Roland Volume 1
A blog book for your World of style. We are so happy because this call for celebration right, so me and some of my friends got together to celebrate, a lot of my friends,fans and sponsors could not make it to be present physically, but they send their love and support.

I am very grateful for the love that my book has received this has encouraged me to write my second book Style and concept by Rita Roland Volume 2. A blog book where fashion met self-esteem.
Looking forward to having the hard copy in my hands.

It was a very nice party my guest were very supportive, and they enjoyed every moment of it, there was a lot to eat and drink. We laughed, danced, joked, got naughty etc……………………..
